Action 20212707-01: DSNSW to review recording of content of conflicts of interest and disclosures. 1.5 Previous minutes and actions Members advised that minutes required minor amendments before they could be approved. Action 20212707-02: DSNSW to review June minutes and actions and contextualise for readers. Members to review and provide feedback by COB Friday 30 July. |
2 | Strategy/Stakeholder Matters for Discussion 2.1 Annual risk review Peter Boyd presented an overview of the current strategic risks. Members discussed whether the risks needed to be removed or modified and whether risks have been explicitly identified. Action 20212707-03: DSNSW to review four existing risks and reframe wording. Members to review prior to strategic planning day. Matters for Noting 2.2 Global standard on tailings dam management comparison. Chris Salkovic presented a comparative assessment of the Global standard on tailings dam management alongside Dams Safety legislation and methodologies. The comparison indicated a strong alignment with our legislative framework. Presentation noted by Members Action 20212707-04: DSNSW to consider where recovery (principle 14 of the standard - prepare for long term recovery in the event of catastrophic failure) fits within our emergency management processes. Action 20212707-05: DSNSW to consider developing a fact sheet making use of the comparative assessment to show how our regulatory framework aligns with the Global standard on tailings dam management principles. 2.3 Information security update Michelle May provided an update to members on the information security review and outlined what actions Dams Safety will take over the next six months. Presentation noted by Members. Action 20212707-06: DSNSW to provide members with an update on how DSNSW fits into framework for critical infrastructure and document security in NSW. Action 20212707-07: DSNSW to investigate and co-ordinate cyber security training for members, if needed. |

4 | Operations Matters for Discussion 4.1 Declaration/De-declaration of dams Jason Porter presented the paper on the dams to be de-declared. Members approved the recommendation to de-declare three dams and declare two dams subject to DSNSW acknowledging the robustness and adequacy of assessment has been undertaken. Action 20212707-08: DSNSW to document an acknowledgement that a robust assessment process has been undertaken for future recommendation papers. Matters for Noting 4.2 Consequence category assessment process Jason Porter provided members with an overview of the consequence category assessment process. Presentation noted by Members. Action 20212707-09: DSNSW to run through consequence category assessment process on a future dam to be de-declared. 4.3 CEO Report Chris Salkovic presented the CEO report. Presentation noted by Members. Action 20212707-10: DSNSW to send draft annual report to members for review in August Action 20212707-11: DSNSW to look at a contingency for the September meeting, in case public health orders are still in place. 4.4 Key Performance Indicators and projects Chris Salkovic presented the key performance indicators and projects.
